As a Competitive Cheer Coach and certified Yoga Instructor I am always physically working with people. My days are all about teaching and moving in a fitness environment. However, since the COVID-19 stay at home order and quarantine, I have suddenly found myself stuck at home and away from both my Cheer Gym and my Yoga Studio where I spend the majority of my time. It didn’t take long before I quickly found a way to re-connect remotely with my students and my life.
After teaching a yoga class on Facebook Live for the studio, I decided to take it a few steps further and create my own YouTube video. Instead of the regular yoga sequence I typically teach at work, I came up with a new flow designed to take only 30 minutes and still be a great workout that everyone can do at home. With the goal of getting my cheerleaders and their families to stay active during this time away from the gym, I started to create my video.
I had no idea how much I would enjoy the whole process! Creating a new flow, filming it, editing the video clips, recording the voice over, and mixing in the music myself was so much fun! As soon as I was finished with my video I couldn’t wait to share it, and immediately started thinking about what I wanted to do for my next one. The next day I went right back into my newly created home studio to shoot more.
